Zurich Identifies S. H. Smith as an "Elite Agency"
Zurich announced that S. H. Smith & Co. is the recipient of one of
their highest honors. In acknowledgment of the company's role as a
top producer, Zurich has identified S. H. Smith as an "Elite Agency"
for 2007.

O'Garro Receives Pride in Professionalism Scholarship
Earl O'Garro, an underwriter in the Small Accounts Group, has
received the Connecticut Young Insurance Professional (CTYIP) Pride
in Professionalism Scholarship. This award is presented by CTYIP to
an individual who demonstrates leadership and a superlative
commitment to excellence in the insurance field. "Earl is an
effective and respected representative of the insurance industry,"
said David Woodmansee, president of CTYIP. "His dedication and
loyalty to his agency and the industry as a whole is to be admired."

Northland Awards S. H. Smith "Tier One" Designation
One of Northland Insurance Company's highest honors was given to S. H.
Smith & Co. again this year - the "Tier One" designation. Northland
Insurance is a leader in providing property and casualty insurance
products and services to the transportation industry and related
businesses. Northland Insurance is now a�St. Paul Travelers company,
one of the largest property and casualty insurance firms in the United
States.

S. H. Smith Receives the Great American Custom "Key Producer Award"
The 2005 Great American Custom "Key Producer Award" was recently
awarded to S. H. Smith & Co., one of only 30 agents nationwide to
receive this honor. Great American Custom is an underwriting manager
for insurance companies in the Great American Pooled Insurance
Companies, a grouping of affiliated insurers led by Great American
Insurance Company. The A.M. Best Company rated the financial condition
of the Great American Pooled Insurance Companies as "A" (Excellent) as
of July 15, 2004.

S. H. Smith Receives USLI President's Circle of Champions Award
United States Liability Insurance Group awarded their 2004 President's
Circle of Champions Award to S. H. Smith & Co. This award is presented
each year to a handful of their top customers, based on professionalism,
growth and overall excellence. The award has been in existence since
1998.
United States Liability Insurance group is a 54 year old company that
was purchased in 2000 by Berkshire Hathaway, ranked as one of the most
admired companies in 2005 by Fortune magazine.

S. H. Smith Recognized as "Premier Agent" by Nautilus Insurance Company
Nautilus Insurance Company announced that S. H. Smith & Co., has
received one of their top honors, having been recognized as a 2005
Premier Agent. Nautilus is an A. M. Best "A" rated company and is a
member of the W. R. Berkley Corporation.

Jeff Blumberger, Vice President and Program Department Manager, was
recently featured in the new General Star advertising campaign. The
General Star companies underwrite excess, surplus and specialty
property and casualty insurance on an admitted and nonadmitted basis
through appointed wholesale brokers.

Washington volunteer fire department to receive life-saving rescue
equipment
S.H. Smith & Company and Fireman's Fund Insurance Company awarded
a $14,162 grant to the Washington Volunteer Fire Department for the
purchase of a combination cutter/spreader rescue tool. This
equipment is used by emergency responders to safely and quickly
rescue people trapped in motor vehicles as a result of an
accident. "With the lack of funding resources for fire
departments across the country and, in particular, volunteer
departments, we are very proud to be able to give back to the
community in such a meaningful way," stated Scott Smith,
president. "This grant will help make the firefighters� jobs
easier and, most importantly, save lives."
