Ed McGuire named Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, at S. H. Smith & Co.
(Philadelphia, PA - July 1, 2008) Ed McGuire has been named Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, for S. H Smith & Co., Inc., a national, independently owned wholesale insurance broker, managing general agency and program administrator. In his new role, Ed will lead a team of sales professionals, continue to expand the firm in underserved geographic regions, and develop and maintain relationships with the firm's largest national broker clients. Ed began his career at S. H. Smith in 2007 as Regional Vice President responsible for coordinating sales and brokerage activities in the Mid-Atlantic region. According to Scott Smith, President, "Ed's unique combination of excess and surplus lines underwriting and leadership experience makes him the perfect fit for this position and to support our ambitious growth plans." Ed was formerly the president/principal of SecureRisk Intermediaries Insurance Agency, Inc., which was acquired by S. H. Smith & Co. Prior to that he was president of NIF Services of Mid-Atlantic, Inc. and the president/principal of Associated Intermediaries Insurance Agency, Inc. based in Providence, RI. Before acquiring Associated Intermediaries Ed was the Vice President of Marketing and National Sales Manager for Scarborough & Company, a Chicago based subsidiary of Aon which specialized in insuring banks throughout the United States.
