(Hartford, CT - May 8, 2007) "How D&O can impact your E&O" was the title of the seminar held on Thursday, April 5, in Hartford, Connecticut for property/casualty insurance agents by S. H. Smith & Co., a national excess and surplus lines broker. A second seminar is scheduled for June 6.
D&O coverage can be a minefield for agents placing these risks on behalf of their clients. At these in-depth seminars, professionals from S. H. Smith discuss the comprehensive negotiations needed when placing a D&O risk, including a review of potential exposures for varying industry types, as well as an agent's own potential exposures. The seminars provide a wealth of information on policy forms for not-for-profit companies, private companies, public companies, as well as healthcare organizations. They also cover the duty owed by an insurance agent, public litigation statistics, as well as claim reporting issues. According to Ed Charamut of Royko-Charamut, "It was informative and of value to attend." This course is eligible for 3 property and casualty continuing education credits in Connecticut.
Additional seminars are currently being planned throughout the country. Anyone interested in participating can contact Scott Smith at 860-561-3600 or via email at Scott_Smith@shsmith.com.
